THE VAMPIRE [along with] A WOMAN'S ANSWER TO THE VAMPIRE.
[United Kingdom]: No Publisher, No Date (Circa 1910). 2 postcards 8.9 x 13.8 cm.; both printed on rough card stock, unused. Prints Kipling's poem THE VAMPIRE, a misogynistic piece of writing depicting a married couple, the husband doing all the work for the family and the woman being "the vampire" by just taking his work and money for granted; illustrated with a great image of a vampiric woman / lamia hovering rather sexually over a sleeping man (or a man with his life blood drained). Accompanied with a second postcard (same format) which prints Felicia Blake's Feminist (or just plain fair and logical) rebuff A WOMAN'S ANSWER TO THE VAMPIRE (With Apologies to Kipling) in which she sets the record straight. Minor creasing, a near fine set. A lovely pair. Item #314444
