¶First published in 1954 by the Olympia Press in Paris, this edition appeared in 1966 published by the New English Library as part of its reprints of important Olympia Press titles. One of the leading “Outsider” novels of the second half of the twentieth century, subverting notions of conventional morality and the objective meaning of events. The story was adapted into film as "Young Adam" in 2003 starring Ewan McGregor, Tilda Swinton and Peter Mullan.
