Description

Reprint. Octavo, rebound in quarter leather over marbled paper boards, the spine with raised 5 bands and small decorations in the compartments, spine label titled in gilt. Boards scuffed, spine panel lightly faded, page edges mottled and some waviness to the pages. 441 pp, illustrations. A very good copy. Note: Despite the antique-looking binding and no notice of any reprinting, we are firmly convinced that this is a modern reprint of the original 1894 London edition, most likely the Arno edition issued in 1974, in a slightly distressed modern binding. The paper feels too modern to us, and despite anything marking this as a reprint, we are selling it here on the basis that it is.

Comments

One of the earliest works printed on alchemy, originally issued by Aldus in 1546.
