¶ A collection of ca. 1500 books published or avaluable in the USA, on the themes of lost-races, divergent cultures, displaced civilizations, imaginary voyages, utopias and dystopias of all types. The paramaters of this collection were that the books had some lost-race content, and were available to readers in the USA; i.e., published in the USA. The great majority of the books are by American authors, but some are American editions of works by foreign authors, principally English and Australian. Stuart Teitler began acquiring books for the collection in the 1950s, and took pains to upgrade to better copies, and bettr editions whenever possible. As a result the books are, on the whole, in excellent condition.
