There was one earlier translation into English published in 1659 titled "Frier Bacon his discovery of the miracles of art, nature, and magick. Faithfully translated out of Dr Dees own copy, by T.M. and never before in English", which was translated from Dr. John Dee's copy of the Latin edition printed at Hamburg in 1618.
