Two Volumes. Octavo, original green cloth decorated with an elephant design in black and blind on upper cover, other animal designs in black on spine, tiger design on rear panel; titles in gilt, top edges gilt. 303 + 324 pp. Illustrated throughout. Ink name on front endpaper of Vol One "Abby F. Vaughan, March 31st, 1900", small bookseller's ticket on rear paste-down "M.S. Smith & Sons, Books, Pictures, Games, 1154-1158 Broadway, Oakland, Cal". Volume Two has a small (tiny!) ink inscription on the front endpaper "C.V. Marshall, Xmas 1898, From A.H.B." Otherwise, and overall, a very good, bright and tidy set.

Originally published in 1894-95, THE JUNGLE BOOK is a classic collection of anthropomorphic animal stories with moral lessons. Adapted many time for the screen, this is an early appearance in their original American Editions.

Oversized and sets are shipped at cost by whatever method you choose at the time of your order. Excessive shipping amounts will be quoted prior to processing an order.
For International orders, we will always use the least expensive form of Air Mail shipping, and we will notify the customer of any shipping costs which are excessive.

For time-sensitive orders or particularly valuable items, we can always ship Express at cost.
