¶ Lost race novel in reverse. A Persian expedition in the 30th century uncovers the history of a people called "Mehrikans" in the ruins of "Nho-Yok". Written as a satire, the American nation has been destroyed by severe climate change. One of the earliest SF stories to utilize the catastrophe motif.
