AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED. Lord Dunsany to his Publisher Mr. [Elkin] Mathews. Undated. [1919?]. Four sides on two sheets of Dunstall Priory letterhead. "[Pegana]" written in an unknown hand at the top of the first page. A letter, presumably in regards to the 1919 third edition of THE GODS OF PEGANA, which saw its first American edition in 1916 - Dunsany writes: "There has been an American edition for 3 years". Dunsany is vehemently contesting the details of an agreement with Mathews to republish one of his works. He argues against several of the clauses, "...Clause VI almost entitled it to be burnt." He writes: "Our conversation referred to one edition, but go ahead and issue more if you like, but not for so long as 5 years. We can always unbind this agreement & I probably would." He mentions Lady Dunsany sending for Heinemann's agreement. He signs his name "Dunsany" diagonally across this final page.
