Octavo, original tan boards titled in dark blue on spine, design of a dragon in dark blue on front panel.  pp. Decorative endpapers, frontispiece and one additional colour plate, black & white line drawings in the text. This edition was issued jointly under both the Allen & Unwin and Houghton Mifflin imprints, allowing copies to be sold by either company. Depending on the expected market, dustwrappers were printed with either 1) A price in British Pounds; 2) A price in US Dollars; or 3) No printed price. On this copy the jacket has a price of £1.25 to the lower corner of the front flap. A fine copy in a near fine original pictorial dust jacket designed by Baynes, a few small stains.
