First American edition. 287 pp. Red cloth ruled and lettered in yellow. "Second edition" so stated on title page, but this is the first U.S. edition, the reprint status refering to the first British edition (Hutchinson, 1922). This edition was prepared from the plates of the British edition and printed in England. Cloth a bit grubby, small pencil mark on spine, inner front hinge a bit weak; about a very good copy. A colour facsimile reproduction of the front panel of the original dust jacket is included.

Lost Race novel. The quest for the city of "Kir-Asa", the oldest civilization on earth, stemming from Lemuria. The city, found in the jungles of Southeast Asia, is defended by legions of giant apes, commanded by a woman of sultry beauty. A classic.
