Publisher: Munchen: C.H. Beck. 1931.
Book Id: 2525

Description

First edition. Octavo, contemporary marbled paper boards with brown leather spine titled in gold. 88 pp. Attractive bookplate on front paste-down, previous owner's name. Mild rubbing to leather at edges; a very good copy. The true first edition of MAN AND TECHNICS, which warned against the dangers of technology and industrialism to culture. Poorly received because of its anti-industrialism, this book contains the well-known Spengler quote, "Optimism is cowardice."
