Sime contributed numerous illustrations to THE IDLER at this time, he was soon to purchase the magazine and become its Editor (we believe that Sime was Editor from September 1900 - January 1901). ¶ Sidney Sime is an almost legendary name in the world of illustration. He grew from poverty and obscurity to become ‘the Greatest Living Imaginative Artist’. Sime is mostly remembered for his fantastic artwork, especially his story illustrations for Irish fantasy author Lord Dunsany.
