¶ Mystical Fantasy novel, a sort-of sequel to THE EDUCATION OF UNCLE PAUL [1909] and A PRISONER IN FAIRYLAND [1913]. These three titles form a sort of trilogy of 'children's books for adults'; the idea being that children have a mystical closeness to Reality that is no longer present in most adults. The "story" - for there is no real plot in these books in the usual sense of the word - herein is that three children and their Uncle Felix experience a transcendence of the events of everyday life and nature. They perceive the inner poetic essences of life - all of which occurs on "the extra day", a "time" outside of time when all the clocks have stopped.
