Small octavo, bound in half black calf over cloth boards, spine panel lettered and ruled in gilt. 371 +  pp. A pretty good copy with some interior stains from use; there is an old ink name on the half-title leaf and at the head of the title leaf "Alice L. Steedinger 1870", some small internal tears with no loss, binding worn at extremities but overall a sound copy. Item #312501
¶ An important and scarce mid-Victorian Cookery book. Originally issued in 12 monthly parts commencing in April, 1864, this is the first book edition, likely bound from the parts.
