Three Prospectuses for books issued by the Publisher John Rodker in their 'The Church and Witchcraft' series in 1929 -1930. Two are roughly 8-1/2 x 11 inches, one is 5 x 7 inches, Included are:
- Francesco-Maria Guazzo. COMPENDIUM MALEFICARUM (1608). Prospectus, one leaf folded to make 4 pages, printed in red and black ink on blue paper. Crease down center from folding, lightly tanned and slight wear at edges, Very Good. 2 Illustrations. The final page advertises 3 other books in the series:
Nicholas Remy's DAEMONOLATREIAE, 1595 (published by Rodker in 1930 as DEMONOLATRY);
Peter Binsfeld's DE CONFESSIONIBUS MALEFICORUM (1589) (Not Puplished)

The COMPENDIUM MALEFICARUM, translated by E.A. Ashwin , Edited with an Introduction and Notes by Montague Summers, was published by John Rodker in 1929.
- Reginald Scot's THE DISCOVERIE OF WITCHCRAFT, One leaf printed on both sides, verso reproduces the title page of the 1665 Edition. Printed in red and black. This is the American prospectus, stating that the book will be priced at Fifteen Dollars and Distributed by Random House, NY (300 copies were reserved for America). Fine copy.

- Henry Bouget's DISCOUR DES SORCIERS (1590). Two leaves folded to make 8 pages, sewn on spine, printed in red and black on fine laid paper, with three woodblock illustrations from Guazzo's COMPENDIUM MALEFICARUM. Prospectus. Last leaf also advertises the unpublished editions of Binsfeld and Wier. Fine copy.
DISCOURS DES SORCIERS, translated into English for the first time by E.A. Ashwin & Edited with an Introduction and Notes by Montague Summers, was published by John Rodker in 1929 (under the title "An Examen Of Witches").
