Sauk City, Wisconsin: Arkham House, 1946. First Edition. Hardcover. First Edition. Large crown octavo, original black cloth titled and decorated in gilt on spine. 3004 copies printed. 474 pp. Corners bumped, spine creased and dull, edges of spine and corners worn and chaffed. A good, sound copy only, in an original dust jacket (NOY a facsimile) which is pretty good looking but is heavily taped at the extremities and which was lacking a rough chip abot 1-1/2 inches deep at top of the spine, this has been repaired by attaching a piece from a different dust jacket - also an original - which kind of matches. It's a long, long way from perfect but it looks ok, and makes a decent reading copy, or a holding copy until a nicer copy comes along. Good in a Good dust jacket. Item #312075
