Approx. 250 words, discussing a missed visit, August Derleth sends word that her book A HORNBOOK FOR WITCHES will be in print around June 1950, along with Wellman's WORSE THINGS WAITING [never published by Arkham House although it was announced in 1950; it was eventually published by Carcosa Press in the 1970's); she writes of the book IS GOD EVIDENT by Gerald Heard. Signed as "L.B. Drake". A friendly, fun letter with excellent content, from one Arkham House author to another. ACCOMPANIED BY: LEONARDO BEFORE HIS CANVAS, Typescript Poem by Leah Bodine Drake, Inscribed by the poet "For Many Wade from Leah"; 6 stanzas of 4 lines each. The poem was published in the July 1949 issue of POETRY Magazine, and later in the 1988 edition of Wellman's book TWICE IN TIME.
