Brief inscription in Shiel's hand to fellow writer and Shiel acolyte Terence Ian Fytton Armstrong (a.k.a. John Gawsworth) tipped onto a preliminary blank "F.A. / M.P. Shiel", with the Realm of Redonda bookplate mounted below this. In addition, the front paste-down has the signature of "John Gawsworth" in pencil. Formerly, Shiel bibliographer Reynold Morse's copy, with his "Ex-Libris RM" bookplate on the front paste-down. Endpapers browned otherwise a virtually fine copy.
