LOVECRAFT: A LIFE was published to great acclaim; it was considered to be the "definitive" biography, and it won the British Fantasy Award and the Horror Writers Association Award. However, this published version has over 150,000 words cut from the original manuscript for space reasons. The complete, uncut edition of Joshi's biography has since been published by Hippocampus Press under the title I AM PROVIDENCE: THE LIFE AND TIMES OF H.P. LOVECRAFT (2 Volumes, 1176 pages, 2010).
