¶ Gothic novel. A man living in utter seclusion, attended by deaf mutes, surrounded by a wall within which are lions and lethal snakes. He has raised a son, a sort of a Jesus-like figure with incredible paranormal powers of character analysis, thought reading and great artistic ability.
