¶ One of Deighton's 1960's cold-war spy novels featuring an unnamed secret agent working for British Intelligence, a sequel to The IPCRESS File (1962), Horse Under Water (1963), and Funeral in Berlin (1964). Intricately plotted, it concerns a billion-dollar supercomputer and a madman's scheme to take over the world. Deighton's novels were not as commercially successful as Ian Fleming's James Bond novels. but they are just a worthwhile.
