Early American edition, the first printing is dated 1893 on the title page. 432 pp. red cloth designed and lettered in gilt on spine and front cover, top edges gilt. Bookplate on inner front cover, and a small ownership stamp. Bookseller's ticket on rear endpaper "Doxey, Importer, San Francisco". Spine a bit faded and cloth a bit worn at tips, a very good copy.
