¶ The "HISTORY..." was first printed serially in 24 fortnightly parts by Newnes from Nov. 1919 - Nov. 1920. Volume One (Parts I-XII) was published in July 1920, Volume Two (Parts XIII-XXIV) in Nov. 1920. This edition - the "Library" edition, consists of the sheets of the parts bound together, contains some hundreds of photographic illustrations, many drawings, maps, and time-diagrams by J.F. Horrabin, and 47 coloured drawings by various artists.
