This is the second of four chapbooks issued as the 'Strange Sins' series, three published in 1897, the last in early 1898, reprinting collectively the contents of A BOOK OF STRANGE SINS. THE LONELY GOD collects the title story, 'A Suicide' and 'A Lost Soul'. The stories tell of the commision of mortal sins, and the supernatural consequences thereof.
